It takes a lot of time and effort to grow well-bearing apple trees. Please respect our year long work to present you with fresh apples in the fall.  Handle the apples and their branches with extreme care!

Remember, the longer apples remain on their trees, the sweeter they get!

  McIntosh:  September 1st through October 16th ... hopefully.  Characteristics of Macs: green one side, red on the other; usually large and somewhat tart.  Good for salads, sauce, pies and eating.

  Ginger Golds:  Available September 1st through October 1st ... hopefully.  Characteristics of Ginger Golds:  big, yellow, crispy and sweet. Good for salads and sauce; excellent to eat!

  Jonamacs:   September 22nd through Columbus Day weekend. Characteristics of Jonamacs: medium sized, red, good for pies, sauce and eating.

  HoneyCrisp:  Available September 15th through end of September, in the farm market only.  "Honeycrisp was produced from a 1960 cross of Macoun and Honeygold, as part of the University of Minnesota apple breeding program to develop winter hardy cultivars with high fruit quality." -- HoneyCrisp.org  Characteristics of HoneyCrisp:  Clean, sweet-tart taste.  Great for eating!

  Gala:  Available September 15th through end of September, in the farm market only.  Characteristics of Galas:  another apple made for kids!  Mild flavored, juicy and crisp.  Bright yellow and red in color.  Great for salads and eating.

  Empires:  September 22nd through October.  Characteristics of Empires: medium sized, red in color, sweet, good for snacking, sauce and salads.

   Cortlands:  September 22nd through Columbus Day weekend.  Characteristics of Cortlands: large, semi-sweet, mostly red in color.  Excellent pie apple!  Also good for eating, sauce and salads.

  Jonagolds:  September 22nd through October 20th.  Characteristics of Jonagolds: yellow and red in color, usually large; sweet, good for snacking, salads and sauce.

  Macouns:  September 22nd through October 20th.  Characteristics of Macouns: medium sized, red in color, semi-sweet, crunchy, excellent for eating, sauce and salads.

  Red Delicious:  October 6th through October 27th ... hopefully.  Characteristics of Red Delicious: this very popular large, sweet apple is good for snacking, sauce and salads.

  Golden Delicious:  October 6th through October 27th.  Characteristics of Golden Delicious: yellow in color, sweet, good for eating, sauce and salads.

Stayman Winesaps:  October 6th through October 27th.  Characteristics of Winesaps:  medium sized, red in color, with a distinct wine flavor.  Excellent for eating, sauce and salads.

Northern Spy:  October 6th to October 15th.  A great eating and cooking apple.  An old, traditional variety.

  Idareds:  October 6th to October 27th.   Characteristics of Idareds: sweet/tart and juicy.  Idareds have a firm, pale yellow-green flesh and are terrific for cooking, eating, salads, baking and pies.  Idareds make a beautiful pinkish applesauce!

    Mutsu (Crispins):  October 8th  into November 4th.  Characteristics of Crispins:  large, yellow colored, sweet, excellent for eating, sauce and salads.

  Fujis:  October 13th through November 4th.  Characteristics of Fujis:  sweet, hard, crisp, red in color.  Good for eating, salads and sauce.

Granny Smiths:  October 27th through November 4th.  Characteristics of Granny Smiths: large, green in color, hard, tart, tangy and crispy.  Excellent for eating, pies, sauce and salads.

  Braeburn:   October 20th through November 4th. These apples, which are very popular in California, are essentially a green fruit with generous red coloring.  Characteristics of Braeburn:  better flavor, texture and staying quality than those left on the tree to redden longer; tart, almost spicy flavor; excellent for cooking, salads, baking, sauce, pies and freezing.

Northwest Greeening:   September 21st through October 14th.
